  • Alimentaria FoodTech 2026 promotes innovation and networking

    Alimentaria FoodTech will hold a new edition from October 6 to 8, 2026 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. The trade fair of innovation, technology and ingredients for the agri-food industry reaches its 17th edition with a showcase of the sector’s latest offerings, offering business opportunities and providing solutions and equipment to all product segments of the industry.

    Alimentaria FoodTech advances the highlights of its new edition, which will be held from October 6 to 8, 2026 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. With 32,000 square meters of exhibition space, it will share the main innovations in the sector and will focus on networking and the creation of business opportunities.

    The trade fair is a great showcase for the sector, with more than 370 exhibitors in the last edition and 15,800 visitors from 30 countries. Figures that are expected to be surpassed during the holding of the event in 2026. Organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions, a company of Fira de Barcelona, it is a professional trade fair to discover innovations and connect manufacturers, PIMES, sector professionals and the entire food industry chain.

    In this way, from the primary sector to the factory sorted product, Alimentaria FoodTech is the point of discovery for the stakeholders of the ecosystem of the Food and Drinks Industry (IAB). The leading companies, accompanied by the national business team of PIMES and international exhibitors, will show a transversal offer that serves the entire industry, dedicated to the areas of transformation, ingredients, packaging and labelling, automation, robotics, digitalization, food safety and refrigeration, among others.

    Debate and further advances

    The FoodTech Innovarena space will once again be the reflection of this innovation present at the trade fair, with presentations and round tables led by experts from the sector, who will provide the most disruptive vision to transform the debate and technical knowledge into business. Furthermore, FoodTech Ingrenova will exclusively show the ingredients, the latest advances in additives and conditioners that will mark the course of the transformation and processing of foods and beverages. The FoodTech Awards will also be held, which reward, precisely, the most innovative products and services in the sector.

    The trade fair will also be a meeting point for the purchasing and selling managers of the leading companies in the sector, where matchmaking and B2B markets are being promoted. To multiply business opportunities, FoodTech will invite a select group of international buyers from more than 20 countries on 5 continents, with high investment potential. Last year’s Hosted Buyers programme included 80 high-level international buyers who generated 800 business meetings.

    The renewed leadership of the trade fair, at the service of the industry

    The current edition of Alimentaria FoodTech will be led by Albert Puxan, general director of Mimasa Washing Technologies, as new president of the Organising Committee of the trade fair together with Ramón Dordal, general director of Dordal, as vice president and Oriol Viladevall, member of the Directing Council of IMPAG Iberia, as vice president of the ingredients sector. This governing body is also made up of the most relevant institutions for the food industry such as IRTA, FIAB, AMEC, AECOC, FECIC and INNOVACC, accompanied by a dozen leading companies both nationally and internationally.
