Alimentaria FoodTech is preparing its most inclusive and industry-wide edition in recent years, reuniting companies and professionals from the entire food equipment and technology ecosystem from the agro and raw materials sector through commercial distribution.
Internationalization is another key factor of the event, aiming to attract a larger representation of exhibitors and visiting buyers. The trade fair will partner again with amec -the association of internationalized industrial Spanish companies- in a strategic collaboration to boost a hosted buyers program that will welcome visitors with a high level of decision power in their companies.
Ricardo Márquez, director of Alimentaria FoodTech, explains that “industry-wide supply and demand will be the main theme of the trade fair, with a mixed offer in all sectors to cover the entire food production value chain, from raw materials to commercial distribution”.
SmartAgro, new sector
The new SmartAgro sector will premiere at Alimentaria FoodTech as an exhibition space of approximately 2.000 sqm tailored for companies that offer innovative technological solutions applied to the production of raw materials. The three key concepts that will drive this area are digitization, automation and sensorization. The exhibitors will showcase how applying these technologies in the food and beverage industry improves resources efficiency, production sustainability, and food safety.
The addition of SmartAgro to the trade fair’s offer expands its reach to the origin of the food production chain. The new sector will be added to a wide range of sectors already in offer at Alimentaria FoodTech: processing, ingredients, packaging, industry 4.0, food safety, refrigeration, handling, storage, logistics and other industrial and auxiliary services.
Innovation and research
Alimentaria FoodTech will also offer a full program of activities focused on innovation and research for the food and beverage equipment and technology industry: the innovation hub FoodTech Innovarena, the Ingrenova space -which showcases the intermediate food products that lead the food and beverage transformation-, and the FoodTech Innova and Emprende Awards ceremony -that promote and foster research and entrepreneurship-.
Before its in-person celebration, in November 2022 a new edition of the Barcelona Biofilm Summit will be held online to present an updated vision on the problem caused by the presence of microorganisms that adhere to surfaces in food and beverages production plants.
Hence, Alimentaria FoodTech will stay in constant contact with its industry until September 2023. In fact, during the last edition of Alimentaria & Hostelco 2022 there was FoodTech area inside the Intercarn -meat exhibition- pavilion showcasing a wide range of exhibitors presenting its latest innovations for the industry.
